Cookie & Browser Storage Policy
Last updated: 23 September 2026.
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains cookies and similar browser-storage technologies used by Job on a Plate. Cookies may be sent with website requests, while local and session storage remain in the browser and are accessed by website scripts.
2. Necessary session cookie
jobonaplate.sid
Provider: Job on a Plate.
Purpose:
keeps you signed in and enables secure account functionality.
Type:
first-party, strictly necessary cookie.
Duration:
up to 14 days; with active use the expiry is renewed, and normal
sign-out removes the cookie.
Consent: we do not
request consent because this storage is necessary to provide the
account service requested by the user.
3. Builder local storage
-
jobonaplateV2— working professional-profile draft on the device; for guests, an unsaved draft is designed to be removed after approximately 2 hours of inactivity; -
jobonaplateDraftLastActivity— timestamp used to enforce the guest-draft inactivity limit; -
jobonaplateCvDirty— records whether the current profile draft contains unsaved changes; the legacy key name remains for technical compatibility; -
jobonaplateSavedSnapshot— local snapshot used to compare the working profile with the saved state; -
jobonaplate_ui_lang— user-interface language preference; -
jobonaplate_cv_lang— profile/content language preference; the legacy key name remains for technical compatibility; -
jobonaplate_pdf_lang— PDF/export language preference where used.
Temporary guest drafts may include images in a local browser representation. Images saved by signed-in users are treated as account content and stored server-side; this is described in the Privacy Policy and is not cookie storage.
4. Session storage
-
jobonaplate_saved_cv_prompt_seen— prevents the same saved-profile prompt from being shown repeatedly during one browser session; the legacy key name remains for technical compatibility; -
jobonaplate_language_switch— supports interface behaviour when changing language.
Session-storage values are normally removed by the browser when the relevant session ends.
5. Sign-out and guest inactivity
On sign-out, Job on a Plate is designed to remove working profile data and temporary builder state from the browser while retaining non-sensitive preferences such as language. For guests, an unsaved draft is designed to be removed after approximately two hours of inactivity. Users of shared devices should also close the browser and may manually clear site data if needed.
6. External resources and image delivery
Some pages may load resources such as fonts, JavaScript libraries or published images from third-party content-delivery networks. Such requests may expose technical data to the provider, including the IP address and browser information. Published profile photos and project/gallery images may be delivered through Bunny.net's CDN. This delivery is part of displaying the requested page content and is not used by Job on a Plate as an analytics cookie.
7. First-party profile analytics
To provide profile analytics, Job on a Plate may record limited server-side events related to visits to or use of a published profile or Profile View. This functional analytics feature is separate from Google Analytics 4 and does not itself require GA4 analytics cookies to be loaded. It is used to provide statistics to the profile owner and to operate the feature securely and reliably.
8. Google Analytics (consent only)
Job on a Plate uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) only if you choose Accept analytics. Before your choice, Google Analytics is not loaded and analytics data is not sent to Google.
After consent, Google Analytics may set analytics cookies such as
_ga and _ga_* and process information about
use of the site, such as pages viewed, visit timing, device/browser
type and related technical data. Analytics is not required to use Job
on a Plate's core features.
9. Your choice and withdrawing consent
On your first visit you choose between Necessary only and Accept analytics. If you choose necessary only, Google Analytics remains blocked. You can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings.
Your choice is stored locally under
jobonaplate_cookie_consent_v1 so the site can respect it
on future visits.
10. Managing cookies and storage
You can remove cookies, local storage and other site data in your
browser settings. Removing jobonaplate.sid signs you out.
Removing jobonaplateV2 or related builder keys may delete
unsaved work on the device, but it does not delete a professional
profile already saved to your account.
If you disable analytics after previously consenting, Job on a Plate stops allowing further GA4 tracking and attempts to remove first-party analytics cookies that it can remove from the browser. This does not disable Job on a Plate's own functional profile analytics, which is part of the service and is described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Contact and changes
Questions about cookies and browser storage can be sent to support@jobonaplate.com. We will update this policy if the technologies used by Job on a Plate change.
